Do you love snapping photos and want to take your business or hobby to the next level, but don't quite know how to get there? I'd love to help you! I know how it feels to have a vision of where you want your art to be, but it feels just out of reach. Several years ago coaching programs weren't all that common yet, so I kind of made my own unofficial mentor program by chatting with and second shooting for other photographers, taking online education courses, attending virtual workshops, downloading freebies from photographers I admired, and just using good ol' trial and error until I figured it out. I'd love to put all that learning and experience over the years to work for YOU!

A highly individualized coaching experience for aspiring creatives

1:1 Photography Mentoring

*Cue dramatic music* Once upon a time, in the ancient days of film and dark rooms, teenaged Amanda took photography classes in high school and fell in love with the art. *End music*

Haha... :-) Oh, man... Those were some incredible days as I learned what a camera could do! I snapped photos of all sorts of school functions for our school yearbook with my SLR camera. A few years later I upgraded to a Digital SLR and learned how to "develop" my images on a computer rather than with light-sensitive paper and chemical baths. While in the Czech Republic I took lots of photos of church ministry activities and started snapping portraits of my Czech friends. When I moved to Ohio I kept taking photos as a hobby while I worked as a full-time high school social studies teacher.

After I got married and we adopted our first son, I stopped teaching full time so I could homeschool him. That gave me the chance to pour more time and effort into photography. As time went on, I invested in education and upgrading my camera, computer, and software so I could do the things my old equipment wouldn't allow me to do. I second shot weddings for several photographers, which allowed me to learn from them and practice my art. I settled on an editing style, and now here I am!

...but there will always be more to learn and more to try. I'm a lifelong learner. Always trying to indulge my creative side and have fun doing it!

“I absolutely loved Amanda’s photography mentor program. She was so kind and fun to work with! I really love how she took the time to get to know me, and compliment my strengths while helping me grow as photographer in certain areas. I really loved how she walked me through her posing guide and how simple it was to understand. Her ideas for a social media strategy and brand pillars were very helpful! I'm truly thankful for all of her help and guidance!”

“Amanda has so much information and insight to share. Going into photography I was very much struggling with lighting, but now I know what to look for: where is the sun, shady areas, will this cause sun glare in my pictures, etc. I am excited to work more on my posing Prompts as well! I am incredibly grateful to have had an opportunity to work with such a wonderful photographer and mentor!

"Working with Amanda is life giving. she helped me connect with my dream clients and find confidence in myself. The very first thing she asked me was about my goals in the future and offered advice based on real-world experience to help me reach them. She seriously GETS IT. I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to work with someone who knew exactly where I was coming from and could push me to take the next step."

I am so thankful for this program! Amanda is a wonderful photographer who has learned so many tips and tricks of the trade and really has a heart for helping photographers become the best they can be! Together we brainstormed ideas for my own personal branding that I am very excited about. As a working mom, it’s hard to find the time to research answers to some of my photography questions and I am so grateful I could use her as a resource! Highly recommend!
